On a compact corner lot featuring a heritage-listed cottage, the design concept needed to carefully balance practical feasibility with local planning regulations. The approach involved an architectural and landscape intervention that contrasted the traditional cottage with a contemporary aesthetic while harmonizing with the surrounding environment. This design strategy frames and highlights the original brick-and-mortar structure, celebrating its historical significance.
